Avril Lavigne was born on 27th September 1984… Happy Birthday Avril!

To celebrate here are my top 10 singles by Lavigne.


10. Rock n Roll

Starting off at number 10 is Rock n Roll, the second single from Avril’s self-titled fifth album released in 2013. It reached number 68 on the UK singles chart.

09. Smile

Smile was released in 2011 from Avril’s fourth studio album, Goodbye Lullaby. It reached number 189 on the UK singles chart.

08. My Happy Ending

Avril teamed up with singer/songwriter Butch Walker (another of my favourite artists!) to write My Happy Ending, which was released as a single from her second album, Under My Skin, in 2004. It reached number 5 in the UK singles chart.

07. Sk8er Boi

Sk8er Boi was released as Avril’s second single from her debut album (Let Go) way back in 2002. It was released with the b-side Get Over It and reached number 8 in the UK singles chart.

06. When You’re Gone

When You’re Gone was released in 2007 from Avril’s third album, The Best Damn Thing. It was co-written by Butch Walker. It reached number 3 in the UK singles chart.

05. Don’t Tell Me

Don’t Tell Me is the lead single from my favourite album by Avril, Under My Skin. It reached number 5 on the UK singles chart.


04. Here’s To Never Growing Up

Released in 2013, Here’s To Never Growing Up was released as the lead single from Avril’s self-titled fifth album. It reached number 14 in the UK singles chart.


03. I’m With You

The first single released which showed Avril’s softer side, I’m With You was released in 2002 from her debut album Let Go. It reached number 7 in the UK singles chart.


02. Alice

In 2010, Avril released the track Alice for the movie Alice in Wonderland. It reached number 59 in the UK singles chart.


01. Nobody’s Home

Released in 2004 from Avril’s second album (Under My Skin), Nobody’s Home is my favourite Avril Lavigne song of all time. It reached number 24 in the UK singles chart.
